Silvana Clark has written 11 books, including 12 Going on 29: Surviving Your Daughter's Tween Years with Sondra. A motivational speaker and television personaltiy, she has appeared on the FOX reality show, Trading Spouses. The Clarks live in Bellingham.

A Voyage Long and Strange: Rediscovering the New World A Voyage Long and Strange: Rediscovering the New World
by Horwitz, Tony
Tony Horwitz fills in the blank (and decidedly bloody) century of American history between the voyage of Columbus in 1492 and the arrival of the Pilgrims in 1620, breathing life back into forgotten Spanish conquistadors, Elizabethan colonists, and massacred Indians, dispelling historical myths and giving an additional nod to the Vikings, who settled briefly in Newfoundland around 1000 AD.--Arlene Cook, Watermark Book Co. (Anacortes, WA)

Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life
by Kingsolver, Barbara, Kingsolver, Camille
“Tracing the food year, Kingsolver—with her characteristic candor, poetry, and grace—brings us meditations on asparagus, turkeys, tomatoes, and mulch as she and her family try to eat locally as much as they can. This is a distinct hybrid of The Omnivore’s Dilemma, Under the Tuscan Sun, and Walden.” —Matt Plies, Annie Bloom’s Books, Portland, OR
